3 players who stole the Man Of the Match award by playing less than 12 deliveries

We have often seen batsmen winning the man of the match award for scoring a half century or reaching to the three-figure mark in an innings. However, there have been times when a player has played a game changing knock and steeled the show for the team.

Here’s have a look as some of the players who have won the MOTM award by playing less than twelve deliveries.

1) Moeen Ali

England’s star all rounder Moeen Ali is included in the list because of his heroics he displayed with the bat against South Africa. In February 2020, Moeen scored 39 runs in 11 just deliveries. His 39-run cameo helped the three lions win over the Proteas in Durban.

He was awarded the Man of the Match Award for the same. Moeen leaked 36 runs from 3 overs in the same match.

2) Jos Buttler

Another English cricketer to make it to the list is wicket-keeper batsmen Jos Buttler. Buttler is known for his explosive batting skills in limited over format. Coincidently, Buttler too won the Man of the Match Award against the same opponent. In 2012, Buttler’s quickfire 32 off 10 deliveries helped England seal the deal.  His 32-run innings comprised of 2 fours and 2 sixes as England chased down the target of 118 in just 11 overs.

3) Dinesh Karthik

Karthik’s Nidahas Trophy innings will be in minds of every other fan who follows the game regularly. In the final match, Karthik scored a crucial 29 run innings off 8 balls and took his side to victory. His short innings comprised of 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Dinesh Karthik was given the Man of the Match award for doing the impossible.
