A big mix-up with Captain Jadeja costs Rayudu his wicket

Nothing is going in Chennai Super Kings’ direction so far in the first match of IPL 2022 between them and Kolkata Knight Riders. Most fans had thought that CSK would win this match pretty easily as KKR do not have that strong a squad and moreover they are without two of their star players – Aaron Finch and Pat Cummins. However, surprising everyone, KKR has completely dominated KKR in the match so far and they are undoubtedly in a winning position right now.

CSK’s first big blow was the fall of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s big wicket and New Zealand batsman Devon Conway followed hum soon in the third over. Umesh Yadav picked up the wickets of both the openers and he has given a fabulous performance in the match so far.

The fall of Robin Uthappa’s wicket came from a stumping. He completely misjudged Varun Chakravarthy’s spin delivery and was stumped behind by KKR wicket-keeper Shelson Jackson.

However, the most shocking dismissal had to be that of Ambati Rayudu. Rayudu’s dismissal was completely the fault of CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja who called for the run but did not see that the ball went straight to the fielder. By the time Rayudu noticed and tried to go back, it was too late as the fielder had thrown the ball to captain Shreyas Iyer who ran him out.

The reaction of Ravindra Jadeja clearly showed that he knew it was his fault and he was thus very sad and guilty about Rayudu’s dismissal. As it now stands, CSK have scored 59/4 after 10 overs and do not seem to be in a good position.
