The second leg of the 2021 edition of IPL is around the corner with less than a week to go. The players have reached to the venue. The franchises have been in Dubai for more than a month now and have begun their preparations for the tournament. The players have been keeping their fans updated about the practice sessions through social media and are also performing some fun activities to entertain the crowd.
The tournament will kick off from 19 September in UAE where Mumbai Indians will lock horns with arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings.
Meanwhile, RCB’s wicketkeeper batsmen AB De Villiers has arrived in UAE with his family. The former Proteas skipper will soon come into action.
RCB announced the arrival of ABD through their twitter handle and said: “Our excitement levels just went up, as AB de Villiers has joined the team”.
The former South African skipper shared a hilarious photo on Instagram along with captain Virat Kohli which went viral. The picture grabbed the attention of the audience as ABD’s face was replaced with that of an ape. De Villiers wrote in the caption: “Really excited about our new signing, Apie de Villiers.” AB De Villiers fans and followers reacted to the post in a large number. The post grabbed more than a million likes within hours on Instagram.
De Villiers further commented, “In memory of all my friends who calls me Ape de Villiers” on the pic with a laughing emoji.
RCB had a good start to the season and registered 5 victories in 7 matches. RCB is currently standing in the third position with 10 points just behind CSK because of the Net Run Rate. De Villiers contributions for RCB has been immense over the past few years and has single handedly won many matches for RCB.
RCB will lock horns with KKR on 20th September at The Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
