In the worst news of the day, BCCI president and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has tested positive for COVID-19. Dada has had a rough patch of health issues lately. He had to be admitted in the hospital after he collapsed in the gym almost 6 months ago due to a heart ailment and now he has caught the deadly virus. Further updates are set to arrive soon.
Sourav Ganguly had an RT-PCR test today and the report turned out to be positive post which he was immediately admitted in Kolkata’s Woodland hospital. The COVID-19 virus has seen a sudden spike in numbers recently with the arrival of it’s new South African variant called Omicron. The number of cases are significantly higher in Delhi and Mumbai compared to the other parts of India.
“BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly admitted to hospital after testing positive for Covid-19,” a BCCI source said as quoted by HT.
The COVID-19 outburst has lately caused a lot of drama in the cricket world. The much anticipated test series between India and South Africa was also on the verge of being called off with the emergence of Omicron but the two boards pulled it off somehow.
