“Bat before wicket!”: Bangladesh take a hilarious review call against New Zealand

You must know that New Zealand and Bangladesh are currently taking on each other in a two-match test series of which the first one is being played at New Zealand’s Bay Oval. Over 4 days have been played already and every sign is pointing towards a possible draw.

New Zealand scored a good 328 runs in the first innings and Bangladesh ousted them in their turn by scoring 458 runs, securing a massive lead. At the stumps on Day 4 of the first test, New Zealand have a 17 runs lead and unless the Bangladesh bowlers can pull something miraculous off on Day 5, the two teams will have to share points.

Amid such circumstances, the most hilarious thing occurred on Day 4 of the match. As mentioned earlier, Bangladesh are in dire need of a wicket. However, in order to do so they have seemingly started making insane decisions which was clear by when they took an LBW review for a delivery that clearly hit the Kiwi batter’s willow !

It was fast bowler Taskin Ahmed who was bowling against Ross Taylor who is playing his last Test match. On a certain delivery, Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque decided to go upstairs for an LBW check but when the reports came in, it showed that there was clear contact between the bat and the ball.

The spectators had a laugh of their life and the Bangladesh team was even trolled online. A video of the incident went viral on social media. Even Indian cricketer turned commentator Dinesh Karthik commented on the incident. Quote tweeting the video on twitter, he wrote “Review for bat before wicket?”
