The former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli currently playing IPL 2022 for Royal Challengers Bangalore, has been seen to be in the worst phase with the bat. The former RCB captain who has a total of 6402 runs in 215 matches at an average of 36.58 has been struggling to maintain his aura with the bat. In 9 matches so far Kohli has just scored 128 runs with a strike rate of less than 120 with 11 fours and 2 sixes.
Lot of talks have been going through around about his form with a BCCI official being reportedly said “He is a great servant of Indian cricket. But his form from some time now is a huge concern now for the national selectors and BCCI,” a top BCCI official told InsideSport.IN.
“See we don’t intervene in the selection matters. Selectors have to take a call on Virat and others. We can’t give our judgement to them. Obviously, they are concerned about what is happening to him,” he further added.
Though the chairman of the National Selection Committee have declined to comment on this matter saying “I don’t want to speak about it”.
The former skipper’s terrible form with the bat in hand is now questioning his position in the Indian team for the upcoming T-20 World Cup scheduled to be held this year in the month of October. BCCI officials and selectors are hopeful that the top Indian batter gets back to the form sooner than later as no longer a spot in the Indian team can be taken for granted.
