Big change in ICC All-rounders ranking ! Shakib al Hasan overtakes Star player to go top
The latest ICC rankings are out and the Bangladesh fans can start rejoicing. Their former captain and one of their all time greatest players, Shakib Al Hasan, has reclaimed the no.1 spot in ICC’s All Rounder rankings (in the T20 format). Just this week, with the T20 World Cup 2021 already been started, Shakib Al Hasan broke Shahid Afridi’s record to become the highest wicket taker in T20 World Cups and that has had a massive effect on the ICC rankings.
Mohammad Nabi has earlier held the top spot on the list for a pretty long time now. Afghanistan are very active in playing several tours and series’ all over the year and for that very reason, Afghanistan has an edge over the other players.

However, despite the heroics of Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh are most likely to fail in qualifying for the knockout stages of the T20 World Cup. They have already been placed in a very difficult group alongside Australia, South Africa, England, etc. They have already played 2 matches and they are yet to earn a single point. It is going to be a very tough road for Bangladesh from here.
Bangladesh will be playing the next match against West Indies on 29th October, Saturday. If they lose the match, it will be almost impossible for them to qualify for the knockouts.
