Virat Kohli has been playing for IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore since the very first IPL, i.e, IPL 2022. In fact, he is the only player to have played all the seasons of IPL for the same franchise. Kohli’s contribution to the side can not be neglected at all as he has done a lot for the side. He was made the captain of RCB in the season of 2013 and he continued as their captain till IPL 2021 after which he stepped down from that position.
In IPL 2022, Faf du Plessis will be the captain of Royal Challemgers Bangalore. However, it does not mean that the RCB fans have forgotten Kohli’s contribution to their team.
M. Chinnaswami is the official home ground of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. The ongoing second Test between India and Sri Lanka, i.e, the Pink Ball test match is also being played at the Chinnaswami Stadium and during Day 1 of the second Test, the Chinnaswami crowd showed how much they love their former captain.
When the Indian team was fielding in Sri Lanka’s first innings, the Crowd started cheering for Kohli and chanted his name. As we all know, Virat Kohli always responds to his fans in the Stadiums, he showed them a heart sign with his hands and what he did after that won hearts of the RCB fans.
Virat Kohli lifted his Test shirt and showed the Red coloured inner he was wearing inside which resembles the colour of Royal Challengers Bangalore. The crowd thus started cheering for Kohli and RCB together and it was a wonderful moment.
The video of the same was shared by a fan on Twitter and it went viral in no time. Even the commentator Jatin Sapru commented that the relation between Kohli and his fans is like ‘Generator and Electricity’.
