Chris Gayle’s latest IG story suggests that he wants to play in IPL 2023

West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle is undoubtedly one of the best and the most aggressive players in the history of T20 cricket. He has always been one of the faces of the shortest formats of the game and when we think of IPL and T20 cricket, perhaps the first player that comes to our mind is Christopher Henry Gayle. Such has been his impact on the format.

Chris Gayle is till date one of the highest run scorers in T20 cricket and is an absolute legend. Unfortunately, he has turned over 40 years old now and his age is now prohibiting him from featuring in any of the top level competitions. For example, he did not even register for the Indian Premier League 2022 season and people thought that this was it for him and he has probably retired from all formats of cricket.

However the Universe boss always brings about a number of surprises and he has surprised us yet again with an unexpected Instagram story and he has proved again why he is called the Universe boss.

On his latest IG story, Chris Gayle posted a pic of him exercising and he wrote on the picture: “Work just start!! Lets go, In prep for IPL next year!”

This means that the player has ambitions to make a return in the Indian Premier League and this has shocked many fans. Chris Gayle last appeared in IPL 2020 and although he played decent in the few matches that he featured in, he was not the regular starter for Punjab Kings. And thus people had thought that he was done with cricket. However, his latest post has proven that he still wishes to play elite level cricket and it will be interesting to see whether he can make a comeback.

Chris Gayle had officially retired from International cricket after 2021 T20 World Cup.
