CSK Official makes a big revelation about the future of MS Dhoni’s career

When we think about IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, the one thing that comes to mind is their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The former Indian skipper has been the face of CSK for over 15 years now and it is almost like there would have been no Chennai Super Kings without Dhoni. However, Thala (CSK fans call Dhoni Thana) is over 40 years old now and he is nearing the end of his career. He has already retired from all the formats of cricket and currently only plays in the IPL. We fear that that too is not going to last long and Dhoni is going to leave playing in the IPL for CSK too soon. Meanwhile, the CSK franchise has provided an update on the future of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the IPL.

A lot of fans had been asking whether MS Dhoni will be continuing after IPL 2022, i.e, if he would be featuring in IPL 2023. Now the CSK franchise has responded to that by saying, “Hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai. Whether it’s next year, or in five years’ time, we don’t really know. It’s his call. We can’t make a comment on when he will take that call. For us, it’s important that MS plays for many years. But he hasn’t conveyed yet when he will take the call”

The CSK official was then asked whether they have their next captain in mind to which he replied by saying that there was no question of selecting a new captain as long as MS Dhoni was with them.

“There is no question of deciding the next captain yet. We have great bench strength and we will take a call on captainship when Dhoni quits. We have not yet discussed the probable players for the team captainship”

Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions and they will kick off their IPL 2022 campaign on March 26th with the opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
