Deepti Sharma comes up with a Brilliant Direct Hit – Video goes Viral

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has been off to a brilliant start in the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup which is currently being played in New Zealand. The Blues have played 3 matches in the World Cup so far having won two matches and lost just 1 match. India W are thus currently seated at the very top of the Group Stage points table and are surely one of the favourites to win the Tournament this season.

India W played their third match of the World Cup against West Indies W today and they registered an emphatic victory. Having won the toss, India W opted to bat first and they put up a huge total of 317 runs, thanks to the two centuries by Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur respectively. Smriti Mandhana scored a fabulous 123 runs off 119 deliveries while Harmanpreet Kaur scored 109 runs off 107 deliveries.

Coming on to chase, West Indies got a brilliant start, thanks to their openers Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews. Deandra Dottin scored 62 off 46 while Hayley Matthews scored 43 off 36 runs.

However, after those two, none of the West Indies batters were able to hold the innings for long and they all fell apart piece by piece.

In the 36th over of the match, however, we saw a brilliant piece of fielding from India’s Deepti Shatma in the 37th over of the match. West Indies batter Chedean Nation, who was walking towards the non-strikers end after running for two runs had no idea of what was coming up. She thought that she would reach her end easily and thus she walked. But Deepti Sharma was cunning and she hit the ball straight at the wickets and run her out. What a direct hit by the player!

West Indies was soon all out for just 162 runs and India registered their 3rd win of the tournament.
