West Indies might have one of the strongest squads in the ongoing 2021 T20 World Cup but when it comes to performance at International stages, the famous saying that West Indies players play well only in franchise cricket and not in International Cricket. The performance that their batsmen gave against England in the second match of the tournament, can be marked as one of the worst performances ever in the history of the T20 World Cup.
It is indeed a true fact as their 55 all out innings is the 3rd lowest total ever in the T20 World Cup and the worst ever by a mainstream cricketing nation as the first two spots are occupied by Netherlands.
Having won the toss, England chose to bowl first and it turned out to be the best decision on a tricky pitch like this one. West Indies got all out for a mere total of 55 with almost 10 overs left. The top order of West Indies is good enough and such a performance was never expected of them.
However, there is probably some complication in the pitch as well. Even England lost 4 quick wickets in the first 6 overs and at that moment, the world could very well understand that the pitches are going to be low scoring in this tournament. This was something that was observed in the first match between Australia and South Africa as well that turned out to be a low scoring thriller.
