Royal Challengers Bangalore have been successful in creating a very strong squad ahead of the IPL 2022 season. When it comes to succeeding in IPL, RCB has not always had the greatest of luck despite having one of the best batting lineups in the entire tournament. They were always left behind due to their poor bowling unit but this year it is different.
First of all, Virat Kohli does not have the pressure of captaincy and thus he will solely be able to focus on his batting performance. Moreover, RCB has one of the most balanced sides in the Indian Premier League this season and they can do wonders with it. We won’t be surprised if 2022 ends up being the year when RCB finally gets to lift an IPL trophy.
One of their key players in IPL 2022 is going to be New Zealand batter Finn Allen whom they bought in the IPL 2022 Auction for a decent price of 80 lakhs. Finn Allen was also a part of RCB in IPL 2021 when he joined the side as a replacement for Josh Phillips.
However, this year he is expected to play a much more important role in the franchise. With players like Devdutt Padikkal having departed form RCB, Finn Allen can take up the responsibility to score good runs as a top-order batsman.
In a recent interview, Finn Allen was asked about the marquee player in his team, Virat Kohli. Finn Allen praised Virat and said he was one of his inspirations and definitely one of the finest players to have ever played Cricket.
On being asked what he would do if he ever woke up as Virat Kohli, the youngster gave a very witty reply. He said, “I’d probably walk into the streets to see how it feels to have everyone chase after you.”
