Good News for India Fans ! Star player makes way into Top 5 of ICC rankings

The ICC Individual rankings have been updated after the recently completed test series between India and Sri Lanka and there have been quite some interesting changes involving Team India players in the rankings. While former Indian captain sadly dropped down 4 places (to 9th position) in the rankings, one particular star Indian player also made a significant improvement in his ranking and that is something to cherish for the Indian fans.

The player in concern is India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah who made a significant improvement in his ICC test rankings. Bumrah was initially placed at 6th position on ICC’s test rankings but the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka saw him rising up the ranks by 2 places. He is currently seated at the 4th position with 830 points. Pat Cummins is currently at the top of the ranking with 892 points. Another Team India player, Ravichandran Ashwin is right behind him on number 2 with 850 points.

Jasprit Bumrah gave a great performance in the Sri Lanka test series and thus his rise in ranks was kind of expected beforehand. In the second test, he picked up 8 wickets in the second test and 2 wickets in the first test.

Another player who has made significant improvements in his Test rankings after India vs Sri Lanka test series is Ravindra Jadeja who was Rank 1 after the first test, Although he has dropped down to the second spot after the second test and Jason Holder has regained the first position, this is a significant improvement for Ravindra Jadeja.

India have no test future in the near future though and thus these rankings can drop down during that span.
