“He’s alright”: Sourav Ganguly’s wife gives update on his condition after testing positive

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly tested positive for COVID-19 today morning and was rushed to Kolkata’s Woodland hospital immediately. It was a worrying sign for many fans as Dada’s health condition lately hasn’t been great. He had to be admitted to the hospital a few months ago due to a heart ailment and now this. Fortunately, his wife Dona Ganguly has revealed that the situation is not that serious and that Sourav Ganguly is fine now.

“He is fine and all his health parameters are fine right now. He has no other complications. Sourav had a mild fever and sore throat from Sunday. He was immediately isolated and the test was done,” said his wife Dona Ganguly.

Dona Ganguly revealed that many of their family members tested positive for COVID-19 last year but luckily she and her daughter Sana were safe as they were isolated immediately.

“Snehasish-da (his brother) had Covid last year. My parents, my mother-in-law also had Covid. Several of our house helps had also tested positive at different times. It is not as if Covid erupted suddenly in the family. Moment Dada had just a hint of fever, he was immediately isolated. Maybe that is why Sana and I tested negative,” she added.

Saptarshi Basu, Sourav Ganguly’s doctor, has asserted that Dada did not have any symptoms whatsoever on Tuesday morning.

“Dada had no fever on Tuesday morning. He is under antibody cocktail therapy,” said Saptarhshi Basu. Thus, it is only a matter of time until the Bengal tiger is once again, fit and fine. Earlier in January, the former Indian opener had to be hospitalized twice in quick succession after complaining of “chest discomfort.
