India’s Squad for 5th test against England announced: Some major changes seen

BCCI has announced India’s squad for the rescheduled 5th Test against England, which will be played at Edgbaston from July 1-5. The match will decide the ultimate result for the five-match series.

India were 2-1 ahead when the final Test at Old Trafford in September was cancelled following Covid-19 cases in their camp.

India’s one of the best test batsman in current times, Cheteshwar Pujara has made a comeback in the Indian team. His red-hot form for Sussex earned him a place in the India squad on Sunday for the one-off Test against England in July.

Ravindra Jadeja, who got a rib injury when he was trying to attempt a catch against RCB, ruled out of the IPL 22, while playing for CSK, but now he was picked up and also a part of the Test squad. Young Pacer Prasidh Krishna has also been included in the squad. In the 2021 England series, he was a part of the team.

Opening Batsman Shubman Gill has been included in the squad. Last time the youngster had to return back home from the UK for an injury.

Test specialists of the Indian team are expected to fly to England on 15 June.
