The excitement for the upcoming IPL 2022 is at an all time high. With the addition of two new franchises this year, the biggest franchise cricket tournament in the world has got a sort of revamp which will just add to the thrill.
The existing 8 teams have had to let go of a big chunk of their teams with the right to retain a maximum of four players per team. Some teams have retained their top 4 best players while some teams have had to let go of them because they could not reach a fruitful agreement with their stars, like in the case of Punjab Kings.
Whatever be the case, the retentions have been made and the teams will now face each other in what is expected to be the most exciting mega-auction in the history of the Indian Premier League.
However before that, the two new team, namely Ahmedabad and Lucknow will have to draft three players each from the unretained pot.
It is being expected that Shreyas Iyer, David Warner and Hardik Pandya will be drafted by the Ahmedabad franchise and KL Rahul, Rashid Khan and Ishan are being said to have been drafted by the Lucknow franchise.
The tentative dates of the IPL 2022 auction has now been released. It can be expected that the IPL 2022’s auction will take place on the first week of February and it will be a two day long auction just like the 2018 mega auction.
