All the eight franchises are set to submit their retention list by November 30 ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auctions. However, if reports are to be believed two players have been approached to quit their franchises.
An BCCI official said that a verbal complaint has been registered by PBKS and SRH about Lucknow franchise. The official has added that the two players might receive a one-year ban if the news is found to be true.
“We haven’t received any letter but we have received a verbal complaint from two franchises about players poaching by Lucknow team. We are looking into it, and we will take appropriate action if it proves to be true,” said a BCCI official said.
The BCCI official added that this will disturb the balance of the existing teams.

“We don’t want to disturb the balance. You cannot avoid such things when there is fierce competition. But it’s not fair to the existing teams when they are trying to balance everything,” the BCCI official concluded.
According to multiple reports RSPG backed Lucknow franchise has reportedly offered KL Rahul INR 20 crore to quit Punjab Kings. They have also given a similar offer to Rashid Khan asking to leave SRH for INR 16 crore. SRH are looking to retain the Afghan spinner ahead of the auctions. SRH are willing to pay INR 12 crore. Rashid Khan currently gets INR 9 crore while KL Rahul receives INR 11 crore.
Rashid Khan has asked his franchise that he wants to be the first player to be retained while KL Rahul has informed his franchise that he wishes to quit PBKS.
Earlier in 2010, a similar poaching case happened with Ravindra Jadeja who received a one-year ban from IPL at that time. Jadeja was playing for RR at that time and was in contact with CSK.
