‘Job Done’: MS Dhoni’s teary eyed video from IPL 2021’s celebration resurfaces

Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings of which he had been a captain ever since the first season of IPL in 2008 and gave his place to Ravindra Jadeja. CSK made the announcement official through their Social media handles yesterday and they made a statement on their official website. Although MS Dhoni and CSK’s new captain Ravindra Jadeja are both yet to make a comment about the big news, CSK chairperson Kasi Viswanathan has now given a statement on MS Dhoni stepping down from captaincy.

He said, “MS Dhoni was thinking about it. He felt it is the right time to hand over the captaincy to Jaddu [Jadeja]. He feels Jaddu is also in the prime form of his career and it is the ideal time for him to lead CSK. What will be good for the franchise must be [in the] back of his mind, He [Jadeja] has been talked to earlier.”

“Even last year there was a proposal. We knew he would be the best person to succeed MS. It is similar to when he handed Virat the captaincy after having groomed him for a few years at international level,” Kasi Viswanathan added.

Meanwhile, CSK fans have now spotted out a big hidden detail from their celebration video of last year after they lifted their 4th IPL trophy. While everyone was busy celebrating the win, MS Dhoni was at the back smiling and he had tears in his eyes. The video showed that he was murmuring something and fans have figured out that Dhoni said ‘Job Done’ in that video. He was clearly very emotional and this video proves that at that very moment, Mahendra Singh Dhoni knew that his job as the CSK captain was done and it was now time to pass on the baton to Sir Ravindra Jadeja.
