During the 23th match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup between two-time winner West Indies and Bangladesh, Pollard stunned his fans across the world after making a decision to walk off without being dismissed. After taking a single off Taskin Ahmed’s bowling in the 13th over, Pollard make a long walk to the pavilion without being dismissed. He departed and let Andre Russell walk to the pitch who was run out without facing a delivery.
There has been no official decision from Pollard or West Indies team management but it seems like it was a tactical decision in order to keep the scoreboard moving as Pollard was struggling to score runs.
But Kieron Pollard returned to bat in the final over of the game after Dwayne Bravo was dismissed in the first ball of the over. However, Pollard smashed a six in the final ball of the over.
With a last ball six, West Indies had put up a total of 142/7 after the completion of 20 overs.
Pollard did not come to field in the 2nd innings of the match which suggested that either he is retired hurt or he is ill.
