Former Australian cricketer and KKR’s chief mentor David Hussey has mentioned that Andre Russell is still in the mix to be included in the game against CSK. Russell has not played in the last five games for Kolkata. Russell suffered a grade 2 hamstring injury and has not played since then.
Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday made it to the finals despite their middle order failure.

Hussey mentioned that the middle order collapse against DC is not something to be panicked off. He added that the pitches in Sharjah are the reasons behind the collapse.
“He was bowling before the game (against DC) today, so he might be in the mix,” said KKR chief mentor David Hussey after the match.
“No, I’m not concerned because they’re all classy players. They know how to play. (It) is just the difficult nature of these pictures, they have been playing on, makes the middle of players, sort of stand out, they are not getting their strike rate 200,” David Hussey mentioned on the collapse.
“They had to knuckle down and maybe a strike rate of 110-120, so not concerned, we are going to Dubai full of confidence and you just never know what’s going to happen.”

Hussey also added that the other players will head to Dubai with full confidence. KKR have previously lifted the trophy in 2012 and 2014 under Gautham Gambhir.
On the other hand, MS Dhoni and co will surely look to lift the trophy for the 4th time. This will be CSK’s 9th final in IPL history.
KKR were cruising towards victory in Qualifier 2 against Delhi Capitals. But a sudden fall of wickets created a panic in the dressing room. It looked like KKR will chase the target with two overs in hand. KKR almost lost the match with three wickets left in hand. They needed a six off two balls. Rahul Tripathi smashed a six in the penultimate ball of the innings and took KKR to the finals.
