Ardent cricket fans must have heard about the disappointing news of Mark Wood’s injury. The England all-rounder suffered an unfortunate Injury in the ongoing Test series between England and West Indies. As a result of his unprecedented injury, Mark Wood was ruled out of the entire season of IPL 2022.
Lucknow Super Giants had bought the allrounder in IPL 2022 Mega Auction for a whopping price of 7.5 Crores and he was set to be one of their main bowlers. However as a result of his injury, Lucknow Super Giants had to replace him with another all-rounder and they chose Australian bowler Andrew Tye to replace him.
Not only did Mark Wood miss the IPL 2022 due to his injury but he is also set to miss the next couple of matches and this is obviously a major blow to his career.
Fortunately, Wood has finally undergone a surgery in his arm and according to him there are no ‘bony fragments remaining in his arm’.
After his surgery was successful, Mark Wood posted a picture of him in the hospital clothes to announce the good news to his fans.
Meanwhile, he was given anaesthesia during the surgery and as we all know, people tend to speak gibberish in anesthetic state. Mark Wood did it too and his wife posted a video of the same on Instagram.
Wood said in the anesthesia state the following words: ““Is my shoulder meant to be sore? That’s weird that. I’ve have had elbow surgery but my shoulders aching. Whatever. I’ll still bowl fast. I am so sad. Not [playing] this time. I like Andy Flower. He’s a nice guy. Keyhole. Bowen gone? Lollipop, lollipop.”
Mark Wood wrote in the caption: “No more boney fragments in my arm! Thanks to Professor Roger van Riet and Mr Ali Noorani for sorting me out and all the staff who made me feel totally at ease. Langers, the England physio videoed me coming out of the anaesthetic – Bah, I talk some absolute rubbish!!!”
