Matthew Wade Hits 3 sixes in row to win the match for Australia after being dropped by Hasan Ali

Matthew Wade has done the unthinkable ! Australia have won the Semi-finals in the last moments in what proved to be one of the most thrilling matches of the 2021 T20 World Cup. With this the Aussies have qualified for the final of the tournament where they will meet New Zealand and fight for the trophy. Whatever be the outcome in that match, the world is going to get a new T20 Champion as none of the teams has won the T20 World Cup yet.

The scenes at the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup were completely insane ! Australia were in a tight situation and they needed as much as 50 runs off the last 4 overs to win the match, which at that point, was looking like an impossible feat. However, they ended up chasing down the humongous total with one over to go, i.e, they scored 50 runs between the 17th and the 19th overs.

The 19th over was particularly special as it was Pakistan’s best bowler Shaheen Afridi being sent to pressurize the Aussies by keeping a low economy. The target was to keep a defendable amount of runs for the final over. However, Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade had other plans. He hit 3 huge unorthodox sixes in that over to win the match for Australia, shocking every single soul watching the match. However, Pakistan’s Hasan Ali is completely to be blames in this one.

Hasan Ali got the opportunity to take Matthew Wade’s catch in the third delivery of the 19th over but he dropped it. And in the next 3 balls, Matthew Wade hit 3 consecutive sixes, sealing the match for Australia. What a hell of a ride it has been! A single catch drop costed Australia the T20 World Cup at the end of the day.
