Chennai Super Kings registered their first victory of IPL 2022 last night against Royal Challengers Bangalore and it is special for many reasons and one of the prime most reasons is that it was the first ever victory of Chennai Super Kings under Ravindra Jadeja’s captaincy. Nobody had expected such a result ahead of the match at all as RCB have been one of the best sides in IPL 2022 so far whereas CSK had been at the bottom of a table from the very beginning.
RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first and as has been the normal trait in IPL 2022 so far as the second batting team is being favoured a lot due to the suitable batting conditions in the second innings and the dew factor. However, none of that seemed to have mattered for CSK last night and they seemed to be in a terrific touch. Everything was turning out to be in favour of them and they got the result at the end of the match.
CSK set a huge target of 217 runs in the first innings last night and thus put RCB into tremendous pressure. RCB never seemed to be able to cope up with the target but when Dinesh Karthik came in to bat, things started changing. He started playing big shots and he diminished the difference between the balls and the runs and thus was a huge threat to CSK.
Although CSK got the much needed wicket of Dinesh Karthik ultimately, he could have been dismissed a lot earlier had it not been for the easy match miss by Mukesh Choudhary. Mukesh Choudhary missed an easy catch that could have sent off the Karthik but what happened after that won over the hearts of every fan.
