Disney+ Hotstar has revealed that after MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, famous Bollywood director Neeraj Chopra will be directing yet another cricket biopic on a very interesting player. In this article, we shall be talking about that player and everything we know about the upcoming movie so far.
Well, let us first reveal the name of the cricket without any further delay. It is none other than our very favourite Praveen Tambe. The forty-year-old newcomer of the Indian Premier League debuted for Rajasthan Royals in 2013 at the age of 41. The movie will be centred around his cricketing career, struggles in life and his rise to fame.
The Disney+ Hotstar movie will be directed by Neeraj Pandey as we mentioned earlier and famous actor Shreyas Talpade will be playing the lead role of Praveen Tambe. The movie will release on the OTT platform on 1st April. Ashish Vidyarthi and Parambrata Chatterjee will also play major roles in the movie.
Both Neeraj Pandey and Shreyas Talpade have experience in the field of Cricket-bases movies. Neeraj Pandey’s biopic on former Indian captain MS Dhoni was one of his biggest all-time hits and is probably one of the best cricket movies made in Bollywood ever. Shreyas Talpade, on the other hand, played the lead role in the movie Iqbal during the initial period in his career and that too was a masterclass. He played the role of a dumb boy who became one of India’s most successful fast bowlers.
Shreyas was a bowler in Iqbal too and that will probably aid him in this movie although Praveen Tambe was a spinner.
It is unknown as to what will be the actual storyline of the movie but it is expected to be based on the ‘Age does not matter’ lines. We have great expectations from the movie.
