New Zealand Women’s Cricketer takes a Breathtaking catch against Australia

The 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup has been a very eventful tournament so far. A number of matches have been totally neck to neck with the winner being decided in the very last over. We have also witnessed a number of stunning moments of Solo brilliance in the tournament so far. Although today’s match between Australia W and New Zealand W was pretty much one side, we surely did see a moment of such individual brilliance.

Having one the toss, New Zealand opted to bowl first. It seemed to be the right decision at first as they were able to send the top order of Australia W back to the pavilion pretty easily but when their middle-order started taking control of the innings, New Zealand faced all sorts of troubles.

After a tough start, Ellyse Perry, Tahlia McGrath and Ashleigh Gardner provided stability to Australia’s innings. However, Maddy Green’s individual fielding brilliance helped New Zealand stop them from causing further damage as she took a fabulous catch to depart an in from Ellyse Perry.

Perry had already scored 68 off 86 when she played a straight lofted shot towards the boundary. However, Maddy Green came out of nowhere, jumped just like an eagle and held the ball in her hands while diving. It was a terrific catch and was worth all the hype that was created around it.

Australia was finally able to reach a score of 269 runs in 50 overs. However, New Zealand got all out for just 128 runs and thus Maddy Green’s efforts went in vain.
