Irrespective of however good form Pakistan are in, they are bound to commit some bloopers and give the rest of the world an opportunity to laugh at them. They did exactly this during the match against New Zealand, which is also their second match of the 2021 T20 World Cup. But what did they do so wrong as to be the laughing stock on social media despite a superb performance overall? Let’s look into it further.
Pakistan are in a tremendous form currently. The confidence that they got after registering their first ever win against arch-rivals India in the World Cup, is enormous and it will definitely work in their favour for the rest of the tournament. And that’s showing in their performance against New Zealand as well. The kiwis are currently one of the powerhouses of Cricket in the world and they have arguably the best and the most consistent batting lineup in the world. Yet, the Pakistani bowling unit has been successful in restricting them to a mere total of just 134 runs.
So why are they getting trolled even after such a rock solid performance? Well that is for a particular review that Pakistani bowler Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam took. Bowling against Mitchell Santner, Shaheen Afridi bowled a loose delivery missing the 4th stump that hit the batsman’s pads. Surprisingly, Babar Azam went upstairs and took a review. Obviously they lost it. But the memers got an excellent material to laugh and make memes at and Pakistan became a laughing stock once again.
