Ever since Team India’s loss against Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup, the Pakistan fans have been constantly trolling India on all social media platforms irrespective of their performance. Although it has been a two-ways process, the majority of the noise has been coming from the other end of the border and it is crossing all limits now. So much so, that they are resorting to fake news just to prove that the Pakistani players are better than the Indian players.
A particular Pakistan fan tried to do the exact same thing with Harsha Bhogle today but the Indian commentator and analyst gave the troll a savage reply that was much appreciated by the Indian audience.
So what exactly happened. One day ago, a Pakistani fan misquoted Harsha Bhogle in his tweet, trying to prove the greatness of the Pakistani Babar Azam. He quoted Harsha Bhogle as saying, “Babar Azam Captaincy gives stability to Pakistan Like Misbah, He is Currently the World’s Best Batsman And His only Comparison is Shaheen at the World Stage And he Performs In a different role.”
However, when the Indian commentator came across this tweet, he straightaway denied having said anything like that. He rather rectified him in his reply saying, “Love watching him bat but I’m afraid I didn’t say that. I said he is “their best batsman….” in the context of what he brings to the side. I think he is in a group of three or four in the “best” category which is a great place to be in too.”
Harsha Bhogle has been a no-nonsense man for the entirety of his career and it was only expected of him that he will not tolerate any sort of fake news being propagated on his name. And he did exactly that in the most gentle way possible.
