Poor Umpiring! Fans are angry about Kane Williamson’s dismissal against RR

Sunrisers Hyderabad have been off to a very disappointing start in the IPL 2022. They kicked off their IPL 2022 campaign with a humiliating loss against Rajasthan Royals last night as they ended up losing the match by a massive margin of 61 runs despite winning the toss. So far in IPL 2022, the usual trait had been that the team that won the toss won the match as well but that ended with last night’s match.

However, now there has been a big controversy on the internet regarding last night’s match and fans have suggested that some form of poor umpiring has caused Sunrisers Hyderabad to lose the match. In the latest footage that has recently gone viral on social media, we can clearly see that the catch that dismissed Kane Williamson was probably an unfair one and Williamson should have been not out.

When Devdutt Padikkal took the catch beside the slip, he did not curl his fingers below the ball and it was clearly not out. However, the umpire did not check the decision properly and ruled Kane Williamson out. It was the turning point of the match and it tipped the match completely in favour of the Royals.

Fans have reacted very aggressively to this poor level of umpiring in the Indian Premier League and they have said the BCCI should take quick actions to make sure that things like this never happen again. However, things like this happen by mistake even in ICC tournaments and we can not blame a particular umpire for this. However it is also true that the poor decision complete tipped the match against SRH.
