Real reason why Mumbai Indians did not retain Hardik Pandya – Revealed

As we all know by now, for the first time in IPL’s history, Hardik Pandya will not be playing for Mumbai Indians this season. Mumbai Indians did not retain their former man ahead of IPL 2022 and he was drafted by Gujarat Titans as their captain. It was indeed a difficult separation for both the player and the fans but after all, every player needs some change after some time. However, in a shocking revelation, it has now been revealed why Mumbai Indians did not retain Hardik Pandya even after thinking about retaining him till the very last moment.

According to the latest reports, IPL franchise Mumbai Indians had decided to retain Hardik Pandya at first. However, they later decided not to do so looking at his fitness issues. Hardik has not been able to bowl regularly even in practise sessions due to a hip injury that he incurred almost 2 years ago. In fact, he has not bowled a single over in big matches (IPL and International matches) for almost the same amount of time now. Given the fact that Hardik Pandya was originally an all-rounder, this is a big disadvantage for him.

If Pandya can only bat, he must be considered as a batman only and if a team wants to include him in their playing XI, they will have to sacrifice the spot of a genuine Batsman which Mumbai Indians were not ready to do and thus the two parties parted ways.

Mumbai Indians let go of Hardik Pandya’s brother Krunal Pandya as well. While Hardik Pandya was made the captain of Gujarat Titans, Krunal Pandya was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping price of 8 crores.

The Pandya brothers will not be playing in the same team for the first time in the Indian Premier League and we hope that both of them have a great season ahead.
