Reason Behind Shardul Inclusion in World Cup T20 Revealed

Ever since team India’s squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup had been announced officially, there had been widespread dissatisfaction among the Indian fans and cricket enthusiasts regarding certain calls that the selectors had taken. However, it has been decided that some changes will be made after the Indian Premier League, after closely monitoring the performances of certain players.

This not only means that some new faces can be seen in the main squad, but some existing players can also be struck off. Evidently, that is under process and some big decisions have already been made.

The biggest news of the hour is that Indian pacer Shardul Thakur has replaced all-rounder Axar Patel in the main squad of team India for the upcoming tournament and that is being highly appreciated by the Indian fans. Shardul Thakur has pretty much made a name for himself in the cricket world as an all rounder ever since his explosive batting performances in the World Test championship for team India and it was quite a bummer when he was not selected in the main squad.

Axar Patel’s inclusion had always been very controversial as he had not been in the limelight for a long time. He was a good asset in the Indian Premier League a few years ago but he is downright useless in the shortest format at the biggest stage of them all.

However, the real reason as to why Shardul Thakur was selected is now being revealed. It is being said that Hardik Pandya is yet to be fully fit and that is why Shardul Thakur will be a good alternative choice for Pandya, in case he doesn’t become fully fit by the time the T20 World Cup starts.
