Shardul Thakur has pretty much made a name for himself in the cricket world as an all rounder ever since his explosive batting performances in the World Test championship for team India and it was quite a bummer when he was not selected in the main squad.
Axar Patel’s inclusion had always been very controversial as he had not been in the limelight for a long time. He was a good asset in the Indian Premier League a few years ago but he is downright useless in the shortest format at the biggest stage of them all.
However, the real reason as to why Shardul Thakur was selected is now being revealed. It is being said that Hardik Pandya is yet to be fully fit and that is why Shardul Thakur will be a good alternative choice for Pandya, in case he doesn’t become fully fit by the time the T20 World Cup starts.
