Ricky Ponting makes a protest to the Umpire during DC vs KKR match

Two of the best sides in the IPL 2022, i.e, Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders went head to head today in the 19th match of the season and DC registered an emphatic win over their opponents which was quite unexpected. KKR are the table toppers and thus nobody had expected that Delhi Capitals would you with them in this manner. Delhi ended up winning the match by over a margin of 44 runs which in all aspects is a huge deal.

Thanks to great knocks by David Warner, Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant, Delhi were able to register a massive first innings total of 215 runs for a fall of 6 wickets. This is a pretty unattainable target on any pitch but the conditions at the Brabourne Stadium made things even tougher for the table toppers.

KKR’s batsmen were already in a huge pressure and the early fall of wickets did not help as well. As a result, the KKR batting line-up fell apart like a house of cards and Delhi Capitals emerged victorious. KKR were all out for just 171 runs.

A rare incident took place in the first Innings of the match. Near the end of the innings, Umesh Yadav delivered a ball very close to the wide line and Ponting thought that it was a wide. However the umpire thought that it was a fair delivery and thus Ponting was seen complaining to the 4th official at the edge of the boundary line.
