Ricky Ponting has backed Australia to defend the T20 World Cup 2022.
The former Australian Captain Ricky Ponting predicted the finalists and winner of T20 World Cup 2022 in the ICC Review Show with Sanjana Ganeshan.
The T20 World Cup all set to kick starts on 16 October with Sri Lanka playing against Namibia in the first match and UAE playing against Netherlands.
Team India will play their first match against Pakistan on 23rd October.
Ricky Ponting has backed the defending champions Australia to defend the title in their own backyard. Also Ponting has huge praises for Aaron Finch and boys for lifting the title last year at the UAE when no one given Australia a chance before the World Cup. Australia won their first T20 World Cup title last year at the UAE.
Ponting further said, England are an outstanding white ball team and white ball set-up. Pakistan and New Zealand always find a way to perform in big tournament. But Ponting feel India will reach the finale alongside Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022 starting on 16 October.
Ponting also feels Pakistan is playing really well from long time also praises the leadership of Babar Azam, the batting line-up of Pakistan and Shaheen Shah Afridi’s skills with the new ball.
Ponting said India, Australia and England have more class players and most match winners without degrading any team, Ponting further explained to the host Sanjana Ganeshan.
