The Men in Blue locked horns with Namibia to play the last match of the Super 12 round of the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE. This match does not change the complexity of the tournament as both teams are out of the tournament. Pakistan and New Zealand are the two teams to qualify from Group B.

Upon winning the toss, Virat Kohli opted to field first. Both the teams made one change in their playing XI. India replaced Varun Chakravarthy with Rahul Chahar Namibia brought back Jan Frylinck.
Stephen Baard and Michael van Lingen took Namibia off to a flying start. The duo managed to put up 33 runs in the board before Jasprit Bumrah came up with the breakthrough. Namibia went from 33/0 to 39/3 quickly. They lost two three wickets in quick succession. Ravindra Jadeja took wickets to put India back in the game.
Virat Kohli brought Rahul Chahar into the attack in the 9th over of the game. Loftie-Eaton took a quick single towards the backward square leg. They went for a two. A better throw would have accounted for Loftie-Eaton. The batsmen dived in to save his wicket and the bat accidently ended up being under Rishabh Pant’s feet.
As soon as the batsmen got to his feet, Pant quickly touched the bat with his hand and tapped his chest with the same palm. Pant’s stunt earned huge respect. It is always very important to respect your trade or art. But sadly no one talked about it in the commentary box.
