The 2022 edition of IPL is no too far with the mega auctions scheduled next month. The 15th edition of IPL is going to be a 10-team affair with the addition of two new franchises-Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in the cash rich league with five titles followed by Chennai Super Kings with four titles. Kolkata Knight Riders have won the tournament twice while Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad have won the tournament once each.
In latest development, Rising Pune Supergiants official Instagram handle was changed to Lucknow IPL team account.
The fans who spotted the change in name, took screenshots and shared it in Twitter.
A Twitter account by the name of Mufaddal Vohra posted the tweet that reads: “Rising Pune Supergiants’ Instagram account officially turned into Lucknow IPL Team account. An update is soon to be delivered on this.”
RPS which is now a defunct franchise played in the 2016 and 2017 edition of IPL. In 2017, Smith led RPS reached the finals of the tournament but lost to MI by only one run.
Rising Pune Supergiants along with Gujrat Lions were two season replacements for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. CSK and RR were suspended for two years due to their owner’s involvement in illegal betting case.
Sanjiv Goenka who has bought the new IPL franchise Lucknow for a whopping price of INR 7090 crore was also the owner of Rising Pune Supergiants.
