Veteran Indian Wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik is back in the Indian team for the upcoming series against South Africa. Dinesh Karthik last featured in the Indian team in the ICC World Cup 2019. After that his poor form led himself out of the team these couple of years.
But Dinesh Karthik’s performance in The ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 has again brought himself into the eyes of the Indian selectors. Earlier this year the former KKR captain was released by KKR and in the auction was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Karthik has been magnificent this year for RCB as he scored 287 runs for them at a very good strike rate of 191.3. Karthik has also played a couple of match winning knocks for his team which helped RCB to qualify for the playoffs.
Since the exclusion from the team, no one expected that Karthik would be back as he was seen recently in the commentary panel in England’s tour of India earlier this year. During that time Dinesh Karthik shared a pic on Instagram under which current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma commented that ” You still have some cricket left FY”. Replying that Karthik commented “Don’t even doubt that sham”.
Karthik also recently said: “Thank you Rohit Sharma for believing in me especially when there are a lot of youngsters available.”
Karthik will be now seen in the Indian jersey in the tour of South Africa and would like to carry on his form to keep on contributing for the team.
