India and New Zealand are currently facing off against each other at the Dubai International Stadium in what has virtually turned into a do-or-die match too keep the hopes of qualification alive. In the T20 World Cup, there are 2 groups of 6 teams each and from each of those groups, only 2 teams each qualify for the knockout stages making the odds very low. It is extremely difficult to go to the knockouts stages if you bottle up big matches and both India and New Zealand have already lost their respective matches against Pakistan (who have qualified for the knockouts). This means that the winner of this India vs New Zealand match will have a great advantage in the knockouts battle.
However, from what we have seen so far in tonight’s match, India will struggle to eke out a point against the Kiwis. After winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bowl first. Not more than 11 overs have been bowled so far and the Kiwis have already picked up as many as 4 big wickets and Team India are now in big big trouble.
The wickets that India have lost are huge. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, and Virat Kohli. All the players on which the Indian fans look up to, have departed and New Zealand now have the upperhand.
However, a particular six that Hitman Rohit Sharma hit just before his dismissal, was sublime and is being highly praised.
