Shahid Afridi trolls Team India after their loss against NZ

Team India suffered a disastrous defeat against New Zealand last night that pretty much crushed their hopes of qualifying for the knockouts of the T20 World Cup. This marked their second success defeat of the 2021 edition of the quadrennial tournament and their 8th successive defeat at the hands of New Zealand in ICC tournaments, a streak that started back in the 2007 World Cup.

With this defeat, India now have zero points after having played 2 matches in the T20 World Cup and are placed 5th in the Group 2 leaderboard. Even Namibia are placed above the Blues ! However, last night’s defeat against New Zealand was more than just losing 2 points. It was a statement that showed the world that irrespective of the glamour that Indian Cricket fraternity now possesses, it has lost it’s tooth in International tournaments. It might have the best T20 league in the world but if the nation cannot perform well at major ICC tournaments, all this has no value.

The current state has now lead to the Indian cricket team becoming a laughing stock in the world. Cricket analysts from all-over the world are bantering Team India for their poor display throughout the competition and the Pakistanis are at the top of that roster. Having tasted victory against India in the first match, the Paks are having the best time of their lives and they have left no opportunity to troll the blues.

After last night’s match, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi was added to that list as well as he took a dig at the Indian team through a particular tweet that he made through his official Twitter handle. He tweeted, “India still have an outside chance of qualifying for semis but with how they have played their two big games in the event, it will be nothing but a miracle to see them qualify. “
