Shardul Thakur engaged to longtime girlfriend Mittali Parulkar in Mumbai

Indian Pacer Shardul Thakur has entered a new chapter of his wife as he got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Mittali Parulkar in Mumbai on Monday. The speedster was rested for the ongoing series against New Zealand at home.

Mittali Parulkar runs a start-up company named ‘All the Bakes in Thane’.

Shardul Thakur hosted the ceremony in Bandra with his family and close friends. India’s T20I skipper Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Ranji teammates Dhawal Kulkarni and Abhishek Nayar were seen attending the ceremony. Around 75 people attended the ceremony in Mumbai. The wedding ceremony is likely to be held in 2022 after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia.

“There is a small engagement function at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s facility in BKC on Monday, for which he has invited 75-odd guests-mostly close friends and family members. The wedding is likely to take place after the T20 World Cup in Australia next year,” a source close to TOI said.

The 30-year-old was in fine form after winning the 2021 edition of IPL with Chennai Super Kings. He has added in India’s 15-man squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE.

Thakur went wicketless in two matches in the recently concluded tournament. Thakur has been rested for the ongoing home series against New Zealand.

If reports are to be believed, Shardul Thakur is expected to play the third unofficial test against South Africa A which will start from December 6. The senior team will arrive in South Africa on December 8 to play three T20Is, three ODIs and four tests starting from December 17.
