Shaun Tait says Shaheen Afridi teaches him a lot

Legendary Australian pacer Shaun Tait is currently the bowling coach of the Pakistan team. Under his guidance, we have got to see a very clear improvement in the performance of the Pakistani bowlers. Pakistan’s pace attack has grown up to be one of the strongest in the world just like the old days and Shaun Tait must be credited for that. It seems like the Australian legend is slowly bringing Pakistan’s golden era of pace back.

However, in a recent interview, Shaun Tait sounded extremely humble and he praised the fast bowlers of Pakistan. He said the young pacers of Pakistan are indeed very talented and he himself learns a thing or two from Shaheen Afridi, who is their best bowler at this moment.

“Shaheen is a great bowler and asks a lot of questions. So far, I have enjoyed my time with him, and I actually learned a lot from him. Afridi is very mature and skilful for his age. He showed that yesterday by getting both conventional and reverse swing. He got some crucial wickets at the end of the day, and hopefully, he gets more wickets in the morning session today,” he said.

Pakistan gave an extraordinary performance in the third innings of the ongoing 3rd test between Australia and Pakistan. Australia declared after scoring 227 runs and Pakistan now need 278 runs more to win the match in 1 day.

Talking about the performance of the bowlers, Shaun Tait said, “As a bowling group, we picked up five wickets and kept the economy rate in control in good batting conditions, which is pretty good,”

“First 45 minutes are crucial. If the fast bowlers put all their effort and get few wickets in the first hour, that will favour us for the days to come in this Test match.”

Shaun Tait said on the first-day performance of Naseem Shah, “Naseem is very mature and skilful for his age. He showed that yesterday by getting both conventional and reverse swing. He got some crucial wickets at the end of the day. And hopefully, he gets more wickets in the morning session today.” Tait stated. Both Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi picked four wickets each in the first innings of the third test.
