Shocking ! New Zealand’s best player will not play in the T20 series against India

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has officially announced that he will not be playing in the T20I series between New Zealand and India that is set to be played on the home turf of the Blues. The Blackcaps captain has reportedly taken this big decision to focus more on the Test series as that is according to reports, his main focus as of now. India is one of the Powerhouses in the world when it comes to Test cricket and defeating them at home is next to impossible. And that is what Kane Williamson will be trying to do.

Kane Williamson’s record as a captain against India has been very good over the years. He has already defeated them in three different ICC tournaments including 2 knockout matches. Their victory over India in the 2021 World Test Championship was particularly bitter for the Blues fans and they would want to overcome that defeat by defeating the blackcaps at home in a month’s time.

However, the New Zealand captain is well aware of India’s tendency to fight back after losing matches and he wants to leave no corners unturned in his preparation both as a captain and as a player. Thus the decision to skip the immaterial T20 series.

Just 2 days ago, New Zealand suffered a sickening defeat against Australia in the final of the T20 World Cup 2021 which was Kane Williamson’s second defeat as a captain in finals of ICC tournaments. That too might have led to the skipper taking such a decision.

New Zealand pacer Trent Boult will be their captain in the T20 series against India in the absence of Kane Williamson.
