Trent Boult hits a six off the last ball to seal a one wicket victory for Northern Knights.
Northern Knights skipper won the toss and opted to field first during the 11th match of the 2021 edition of Super Smash League at the Bay Oval.
Canterbury had a disastrous start to the innings after being put to bat. Both the openers McClure and Bowes departed within the third over of the game. Henry Nicholls who came out to bat at Number 3 kept the scoreboard moving for Canterbury but wickets were continuously falling at the other end. Nicholls departed after scoring a 21 ball 35 at a strike rate of 166.67.
Canterbury were bowled out in the 18th over of the game after scoring 107 runs.
Northern Knights on the other had a fiery start to the innings. Tim Seifert and Katene Clarke scored 46 runs for the first wicket. However, their batting lineup fell off after Tim Seifert was dismissed in the 5th over of the game.
Northern Knights needed eight off the last over with Ish Sodhi and Anurag Verma in the crease.
Anurag Verma fell off the in first ball of the final over. The Knights required six off the final ball with Trent Boult in the strike. Boult smashes the ball over deep mid-wicket for a massive six and wins the match for his side.
