Nothing is going right for Indian spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav lately. He might have been bought by IPL franchise Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction but that hasn’t improved his fate as far as getting chance in the Indian team is concerned. As per latest reports, there is further bad news for Kuldeep Yadav.
In latest news, India has decided to remove Kuldeep Yadav from their test squad for the second match between Sri Lanka and India which is set to be played at the M. Chinnaswami stadium. Instead, they have replaced him with Axar Patel who is a spin bowling all rounder. According to reports, the Indian team has decided to do so because unlike Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel can prove to be a great batting asset for them as well.
Axar Patel was initially ruled out of the first test owing to an injury and it was said that his possible inclusion in the second Test will be decided later.
“Axar Patel is currently undergoing his rehab and is not available for selection for the first Test. He will be assessed later to ascertain his selection for the second Test,” a BCCI official had then said.
Well, now that Axar Patel is fully ready and fit, he has replaced Kuldeep Yadav in the squad and will probably even play the match against Sri Lanka.
Axar Patel has had a great record in test cricket lately. He played for India in the series against New Zealand and he was simply sensational. India are prioritising him over Kuldeep Yadav at this moment for very understandable reasons and that was the very reason why he replaced the chinaman spinner.
The second test between India and Sri Lanka will commence on 12th Match. India will look to whitewash the visitors by winning that match.
