Star Lucknow Super Giants player ruled out of IPL 2022

English bowling all-rounder Mark Wood, who was bought by IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping price of 7.5 Crores has suffered a very serious elbow injury during the ongoing Test series between England and West Indies. As a result, the Lucknow Super Giants franchise and their fans are in an obvious state of concern right now.

Mark Wood will supposedly be taking a big break from cricket to recover from the injury which implies that he will definitely not be taking part in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, i.e, IPL 2022.

Mark Wood is an exceptional all-rounder and although he does not have a great track record in the Indian Premier League, he has been an asset for England in the International Cricket scenarios. He was originally just a fast bowler but playing as a tailender for England, he had a number of great knocks and thus he started focusing on his batting.

Speaking of his bowling, Mark Wood is one of the best pacers at England’s disposal currently and he would have been a great addition to the Lucknow Super Giants team, had he played for them. It will indeed be a great loss for them.

However, LSG has already started looking for replacements for Mark Wood. Merchant De Lange, Dasun Shanaka, Kane Richardson, Sheldon Cottrell, Scott Kuggeleijn and Saqib Mahmood are all potential options to replace Mark Wood.

LSG Squad: KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, Ravi Bishnoi, Quinton de Kock, Deepak Hooda, Manish Pandey, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Mark Wood, Avesh Khan, Ankit Rajput, K Gowtham, Dushmanta Chameera, Shahbaz Nadeem, Manan Vohra, Mohsin Khan,  Ayush Badoni, Karan Sharma, Evin Lewis, Mayank Yadav, Kyle Mayers.
