Star Players who will miss the first few matches of IPL 2022

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to start today and although the anticipation for the mega event is as high as it gets, not all the teams have their full strength squad yet. Many of the star players are either out injured and some overseas players have either not been able to join their respective camps or they are currently under quarantine. 

In this article, we shall thus be talking about some star players who are set to miss the first few matches of the Indian Premier League this season. Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are the main teams who will suffer from this. Let us now see the names of the players. 

Mumbai Indians – Suryakumar Yadav will not be available as he has suffered a hairline injury 

Chennai Super Kings – Moeen Ali and Dwayne Pretorius. Moeen Ali has some visa issues while Dwayne Pretorius was a part of South Africa’s squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh and thus he will miss the first match. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Josh Hazelwood and Jason Behrendorff will miss the first few matches due to contract guidelines while Glenn Maxwell will also miss at least 2 matches. 

Kolkata Knight Riders – Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch will feature in the series between Australia and Pakistan and thus they will miss the first five matches of IPL. 

Punjab Kings – Kagiso Rabada featured in the series against Bangladesh and although he has reached Mumbai, he is currently undergoing quarantine. 

Delhi Capitals- Warner will be attending the funeral of Shane Warne and thus he will miss the first two matches of IPL. Lungi Ngidi, Mustafizur Rehman and Mitchell Marsh are also set to miss the first couple of matches.
