“Stop moving the robot”, Stuart Broad fumes at Fox Cricket’s Rover

During the second day of the fifth and the final Ashes test at Hobart, veteran English fast bowler Stuart Broad was disturbed by the host broadcaster Fox Cricket’s rover.

The incident took place in the 63rd over of Australia’s first innings with left arm pacer Mitchell Starc on strike. Broad was running all the while to bowl to Starc when the rover moved near the boundary rope behind Starc. Broad stopped his run up in the end and screamed at the rover.

“Stop moving the robot”, the 35 year old yelled at the rover.

A Rover is a camera like equipment which moves from one side to another near the boundary ropes. The equipment helps to give some eye-catching visuals to the people watching behind their TV sets. However, the rover should not be moving when a bowler is running to bowl.

The visitors have bowled out the hosts for 303 in the first innings. Stuart Broad has scalped three for 59 runs while Mark Wood has picked the same number of wickets but has leaked a lot of runs. Ollie Robinson and Chris Woakes on the other hand have picked up two each.

After missing the SCG test, Travis Head makes a comeback and scores a ton at Hobart. Cameron Green on the other hand scored 74 off 109 deliveries. Nathan Lyon impressed a lot by smashing three sixes off Mark Wood’s over. Lyon scored 31 off 27 deliveries and remained unbeaten.

At the time of writing, England have lost both their openers quite early in the innings. Rory Burns, who’s making a comeback failed to open his account. Zak Crawley was removed by skipper Pat Cummins. He managed to score 18 off 21 deliveries which included three boundaries. Skipper Joe Root and Dawid Malan are in the crease currently as England have scored 29.
