Uncapped player Suryakumar Yadav has been added to India’s test squad for the upcoming two match series against New Zealand.
Suryakumar Yadav who was originally dropped from the two match test series has been recalled. According to reports, he will be travelling to Kanpur with other teammates.
A source said while speaking to mid-day.com that the right-handed batsman will be making his comeback in the Test team.
“Suryakumar will be making a comeback to the Test team. He will join India’s Test team in Kanpur from Kolkata,” the source said.
Suryakumar Yadav was included in India’s squad for England tour. He made his international debut against England on March 2021. Yadav scored a fifty in his first international match.
Suryakumar Yadav is an uncapped player in the longest format of the game. He will be competing with Shreyas Iyer to earn a place in the playing XI. Iyer is also an uncapped player in the longest format of game.
Suryakumar Yadav has played 77 first class matches and has scored 5,356 runs at an average of 44. He has 14 hundred and 26 fifties to his name.
Yadav has played 11 T20Is for India and has scored 244 runs at an average of 34.85 at a stunning strike rate of 155.4.
Ajinkya Rahane will lead team India the first of two tests at Kanpur which is scheduled to start from November 25. Rohit Sharma has been rested for both tests while Virat Kohli will return to lead the 2nd test at Kanpur starting from December 3.
