This country will host the inaugural season of Legends Cricket League

The Legends Cricket League, a tournament which is organized for former cricketers announced that its inaugural season will be held in Oman. The tournament is scheduled to begin from January 2020 and will be played at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman.

Legends of the game and former cricketers will get a chance to present their old on field rivalry at this global professional tournament.

UAE and Oman were the host of the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2021 where Australia emerged as the champions.

Oman Cricket chairman Pankaj Khimji said: “It is an honour for Oman Cricket to host the Legends of the game. This is going to be very big for Oman Cricket. Such a gathering of star cricketers is unprecedented in Oman and I am sure this will just be the beginning, opening up a completely new opportunity for Oman Cricket. We at Oman Cricket would extend the best hospitality to the Legends while they entertain the fans with Cricket.”

Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri joined as the commissioner of this global tournament after his tenure as the Head Coach of Team India got over. He said: “We see our League as an opportunity to promote Cricket in new destinations. Amongst all options, Oman came out as the best package. It would a great start to a new journey ahead.”

The co-founder and the CEO of Legends League Cricket Raman Raheja said: “Oman has proved its credential as a world-class international venue and host in the T20 World Cup and we felt it will be the best place for the League to start with. I am sure we will have fantastic tournament and all the players will have an experience of a lifetime.”

The chairman of the League Legends Cricket Vivek Khushalani said: “We are looking forward to the League being hosted at Oman. It is an upcoming destination for International Cricket and this event would further enhance their position. You don’t get such opportunities every day to bring such legends together in one venue.”

The inaugural season of Legends League Cricket will have players from all cricket playing nations including India, Australia, Pakistan and many more. The league will have three teams- India, Asia and Rest of the World. The players will be divided accordingly.
