This Star Mumbai Indians player can replace Deepak Chahar in CSK

Chennai Super Kings bought their former man Deepak Chahar for a whopping price of 14 Crore rupees in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. It was a debatable buy as many CSK fans thought that he was overpriced and that if they wanted to get him, they could have just retained him. However, things have further worsened for the defending champions now as the fast bowler is set to miss a major part of IPL 2022 owing to an injury.

The traumatizing news came about three days ago when several sources reported that Deepak Chahar will miss more than half of the upcoming season due to a quadriceps tear which also ruled him out of the recently concluded series between India and Sri Lanka.

Deepak Chahar has been a brilliant addition to the Indian national team lately and he has also improved his batting skills a lot – so much so that he can even be considered to be an all-rounder now. Maybe that was why CSK bought him for such a high price ahead of IPL 2022 and made him the second costliest player of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

Deepak Chahar is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru and the seriousness of his injury would soon be discovered.

However, CSK could probably not wait that long and they have already started looking for a replacement for Deepak Chahar only for this season. Amid some of the names that have come up as his replacement is Dhawal Kulkarni.

Dhawal Kulkarni has great experience in the Indian Premier League. He was formerly a part of Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. However, he made his major contributions in the tournament for the franchise Mumbai Indians.

Dhawal Kulkarni went unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction and he might be the perfect replacement for Deepak Chahar. He is only 33 years old and still has much cricket left in him.
