Three Star players of LSG set to miss the first 3 matches of IPL 2022

Apparently, nothing is going in Lucknow Super Giants’ favour lately. First, they lost the services of English All-rounder Mark Wood owing to an injury that he incurred in the ongoing test series between England and the West Indies. Now, it seems like they will be without three more of their star players in the first week of IPL 2022.

These three players in concern are Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, and West Indian players Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers respectively.

Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers are included in the West Indies squad for the ongoing test series between West Indies and England that is being hosted by the Carribeans. The test series will end on 29th May, which is 3 days after the first match of IPL 2022 will be played and they will fly to Mumbai immediately after 29th May. Upon reaching Mumbai, they will go through quarantine for a necessary period of time and only after that will they join the rest of the squad.

Marcus Stoinis, on the other hand, will be out for a much longer period. He will be playing in the T20I series against Pakistan in Pakistan and it will end on 5th May following which he will take the flight to Mumbai and then go through Quarantine.

Lucknow Super Giants will be playing their first match in IPL 2022 against Gujarat Titans on 28th March starting at 7:30 pm. They will be heading on that match without three of these top players and it will a test for their remaining players.
